BIG TINY of Unauthorized Ink | The Body Art Exhibit April 11th
"Yard recall�" echoed through the killing fields of California's so called Correction and Rehabilitation Centers. California State Prison of Los Angeles California. Half way done with a nine year prison term, Big Tiny, was the go to guy for some original prison tattoo ink. This Orange County homeboy, didn't even see what was about unravel when he finally touched down.
Coming from a family involved in the printing business, the computer was forced by the conscience that was never heard. Big T, had a big door open, but always passed it by. In his teenage years, graffiti and the street scene influenced this small guy to pursue his artistical skills. But the homies and stomping ground became more of a reality to him. Which lead him to the revolving doors of the "G" life. Catching a hot one, Big Tiny could of been another statistic complimenting the downfall of one's culture. This was the turning point for him. It was either this or that at that time.
Hooking up with one of Hip Hop's well known figures, Steven "Lucky" Luciano on the four yard in Lancaster, the two cons exchanged each others 411 upon Lucky's release to the streets. Big Tiny put the number in his hand crafted playing card phonebook, and went to the bars to finish off his reps. In 2001 Big Tiny enrolled in Brooks College to obtain a different credential. Rusty with the design programs, he sacrificed a lot by going to school full time and working full time at Aggressive Nature Tattoo in Huntington Park ,CA. Besides the test of being on parole, Lucky acquired him to create some original art for Not Guilty� . New to the game, the shit was hot to Mr.Luciano. The door into the industry was opened, but the Unauthorized element that Big Tiny brings had to run up or shut up.
This lead on to doing some unique designs for Wasted Youth Supply Co. on Melrose in Los Angeles, Coors Light, Psycho Realm/Sick Symphonies, Angeles Records, Famous Stars and Straps, Tribal Gear, Joker Brand, Hip- Hop artists DJ Muggs, Bun-B, Mitchy Slick, Field Mob logo under Geffen Records, Devin the Dude and Lil Flip under Rap-A-Lot and much more.
He is now based out of the Psycho Ward in Los Angeles, tattooing out of his private studio Cell Block 21�9, along with Sick Jacken right next door in the Drug Lab II. Hard drum beats mixed with the clack of the coils brings that SickSide realm to your reality.
