  1. Raquel Torres (1908 - 1987), the Mexican-born film star was the third Latin to become a star in Hollywood in the 1920's. Her most memorable role was the lead in the White Shadows on the South Seas (1928).

  2. Dolores del Rio (1899 - 1983), was the first Mexican film start to succeed in Hollywood in 1925. A great beauty, she becan a second career in Mexican films in 1943.

  3. Ramon Novarro (1899 - 1968), made history be being the first Mexican film superstar in Hollywood beginning in 1923. Versatile in comedy and drama, he was also a director, opera singer and stage actor.

  4. Lupe Velez (1908 - 1944), the Mexican-born singer and dancer became the second Mexican film star beginning in 1927. She excelled in comedy.

  5. Gilbert Roland (1905 - 1994), he debuted in Hollywood in 1927, played romantic leads in the twenties and thirties, the Cisco Kid in the forties and a variety of roles thereafter.

  6. Antonio Moreno (1997 - 1967), he was the first Spanish-born film star in Hollywood beginning in 1912. He played romantic leads in the teens and twenties and character roles thereafter.

  7. Rita Hayworth (1918 - 1987), alias Margarita Cansino, born in Tijuana of Spanish parents, she was a dancer and singer, before debuting in films in 1935, and rose to become a legendary sex symbol.

  8. Katy Jurado (Born in 1927), the Mexican beauty became a star in Mexican films before scoring in High Noon in 1951.

  9. Cesar Romero (1907 - 1994), of Cuban parentage, he specialized in playing suave romantic leads and villains. He was the second actor to play the Cisco Kid.

  10. Anthony Quinn (Born 1915), the durable Mexican-born actor was the first Mexican to win an Academy Award (in Viva Zapata in 1953 and Lust for Life in 1956).

  11. Duncan Renaldo (1904 - 1980), the Spanish-born actor is best remembered as the third film Cisco Kid, which he also played on television in the 1950's.

  12. Maria Montez (1920 - 1951), the Dominican-born beauty became famous playing exotic leads in teh 1940's in a series of lavished adventure films.

  13. Pedro Armendariz (1912 - 1963), the virile Mexican-born actor became an international film star in the later 1940's after scoring in Mexican cinema.

  14. Lupita Tovar (Born in 1911), the Mexican-born start worked in Hollywood films in the twenties, thirties and forties.

  15. Miroslava (1926 - 1955),born in Czechoslovakia, raised in Mexico, where she became an important star and made two Hollywood films.

  16. Tito Guizar (born in 1908), the popular Mexican-born singer starred in Hollywood films in the thirties and forties and thereafter in Mexico.

  17. Jose Ferrer (1912 - 1992), the gifter Puerto Rican actor and director of film, stage and television was the first Latino to win an Academy Award (for Cyrano de Bergerac in 1950).

  18. Carmen Miranda (1909 - 1955), born in Portugal and raised in Brazil, her vogue came in colorful Hollywood musicals in the forties.

  19. Arturo de Cordova (1908 - 1973), a Mexican-born romantic leading man was brought to Hollywood fo ten films beginning in 1942.

  20. Cantinflas (1911 - 1993), the legendary Mexican comedian starred in two Hollywood films, Around the World in Eighty Days (1959) and Pepe (1960).

  21. Ricardo Montalban (Born in 1920), was already a Mexican film star when he was brought to a romantic lead in Hollywood films in 1947.

  22. Leo Carrillo (1880 - 1961), the Mexican-American actor specialized in sidekick comic roles and cheerful villains.

  23. Jose Mojica (1896 - 1974), the Mexican-born tenor starred in both Mexican and Hollywood films in the twenties and thirties.

  24. Margo (1917 - 1985) the Mexican-born singer and dancer broke into Hollywood films in 1934. She would later become the cofounder of Plaza de la Raza.

  28. Sarita Montiel (born in 1928), the popular Spanish- born singer and actress starred in four U.S. films, Vera Curz (1954) among them.
