Man One Bio:
Artist/Muralist/Curator

Bold, colorful art strokes. The urban art movement emerges making cultural statements across the country as technology grows ever more complicated. A leading urban muralist/artist enhancing the definition of art today is Los Angeles native Man One.

Involved with the Graffiti Art movement since 1987, Man One began his artistic journey on the streets of Los Angeles tagging and leaving his trademark of bold, colorful aerosol strokes as he searched for his artistic purpose. As he continued to explore his talent and define his own unique statement and style, a college art professor recognized Man One's strong talents and encouraged him to move forward on his career. After completing his B.A. degree in Fine Arts from Loyola Marymount, his newly inspired passion began to change the way the world interpreted graffiti and urban art. Man One set out to make a name for himself and strengthen the real meaning behind the art movement.

It only took the first few commissioned murals to allow Man One to realize his art could transcend beyond the streets and into the world of commerce. His bright and colorful murals made their way into the underground urban art movement pioneering the evolution of graffiti as an art form, not a negative statement of culture. Today, his artwork reaches internationally having been featured in venues throughout the world. His artwork has been showcased in over 40 group exhibitions domestically and internationally, eight one-person shows, and displayed at several museums and high profile galleries, including the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, The Getty, Orange County Center for Contemporary Art in Santa Ana, and Parco Museum in Tokyo.

Commercially, Man One's commissions include murals, designs and concepts for MTV, Coca-Cola, Adidas, Sony, Ubisoft and many others, as well as scenic visuals for feature films, music videos and featured in television commercials and ads for Microsoft, Target and Ford. His artwork has been profiled and featured in a number of international magazines, newspapers and books including The Washington Post, New York Magazine, Warp Magazine (Japan), 38Times (Japan), Lowrider Arte Magazine (USA), Rime Magazine (USA), La Dolce Vita (Italy), Aelle (Italy), Backspin (Germany), Rap Pages (USA), Airbrush Action (USA), Graffiti World (by Nicholas Ganz), Painting the Towns: California Murals (by Jim Prigoff and Robin Dunitz), and Graffiti L.A. (by Steve Grody) to name a few.

His success as a freelance artist has allowed him to travel extensively throughout the world. He also owns and runs Crewest, the only L.A. based gallery dedicated to the upliftment of Graffiti Art. For more information on Man One please visit his website at: http://www.manone.com.
