Proceeds will go to the Chiapas Coalition '98 projects including:
The rebuilding of Guadalupe Tepeyac. In February of 1995, the government
launched a military offensive against the Zapatistas and the community of
Guadalupe Tepeyac. A military base was constructed and remained there until
after the Zapatista caravan in and after appearing before congress in March
and in response to the call by Zapatistas for the dismantlement of the
camp. The community in exile is now free to return but their homes were
either totally destroyed or severely damaged. The community of Guadalupe
Tepeyac has issued a call for support in their efforts to rebuild their
community.
The community of Polh, which currently houses over 10,000 refugees who,
have fled from paramilitary aggression in Chiapas.
Estacin Libre - an organization of people of color working to connect
communities of color with the Zapatista Movement. E.L. maintains a house
in Chiapas to assist people of color in their solidarity work with the
Indigenous communities in resistance.
Rural Development/Chiapas - a development project to help meet the building needs of individual autonomous municipalities/communities, increase their present infrastructure, and sustain their economic growth by providing
appropriate equipment, technical assistance, and training.
