"Seditious Beats" Returns to Los Angeles Airwaves Tonight
LOS ANGELES -- Top-rated award winning conscious Hip-Hop radio show
"Seditious Beats" hosted by Fidel Rodriguez with DJ Icy Ice and Curse of the
World Famous Beat Junkies, DJ Counterstryke of CAL Cutterz and Breeze returns to
90.7 KPFK in Los Angeles Friday Night February 1st 2002 from 12am to 3am.
�Seditious Beats� returns after unjustly being canceled on January 3rd, 2002 by
former KPFK Manager Mark Shubbs. The whole �Seditious Beats� crew would like to
thank all our listeners and revolutionaries for their support and love while
away from the Los Angeles airwaves, school is back in session.
Seditious Beats can be heard on KPFK (90.7FM) in Los Angeles and KPFK (98.7FM) in Santa Barbara County early on Friday Nights from 12a.m. to 3 a.m and on Thursday nights at 6pm on www.bringthenoise.com. The show is simulcast at the "Seditious Beats" website at www.seditious.com. "Seditious Beats" is an innovative, positive and exciting show, which flawlessly blends hip-hop music, education, in-studio guests and spirituality within theme-based shows. There is even a "Word of the Week" where listeners can increase their vocabulary as well as win books and cd�s.
"Seditious Beats" grew dramatically when it first aired on KKBT FM (92.3 FM "The Beat") where it premiered in February, 1998. The show dramatically increased its ad revenue and also increased it's listenership by 275%, making it the number one radio program in Los Angeles in its time slot according to Arbitron. Internationally-known rappers such as KRS-ONE, Cypress Hill, Reflection Eternal(Talib Kweli & DJ Hi-Tek), DJ Qbert, Dilated Peoples, Killer Priest and Prodigal Sun of the Sunz of Man, Visionaries, Guru of Gang Star, Flava Flav & Professor Griff (of the seminal rap group Public Enemy), Psycho Realm and Ozomatli, to name a few, have all participated in promotion and guest for the show.
Fidel Rodriguez is host, and producer of "Seditious Beats." He hails from Santa Barbara, CA. and is a 1997 graduate of the University of Southern California with Bachelor degrees in both Chicano Studies and African American Studies. He is joined on-air by DJ extraordinaire Icy Ice and Curse of the World Famous Beat Junkies, Cal Cutterz' DJ Counterstryke and Breeze.
